Soft Living Is a Spiritual Practice
Share
We as women need to remember to make time for ourselves, have a soft space where we truly feel free, unwind, and just be. Living softly means to have a space to reconnect with your inner self, feel grounded again, and slow down.
Soft living represents a space where you can do all of your favorite things, you can walk, meditate, Journal, reflect, have fun, relax, you can eat whatever you want, you can dance, sing, even cry...it's your space. You are reconnecting with your inner self.
Living in this world as a woman can be fulfilling for many reasons, women are moms, daughters, sisters, friends, wives, there are women who have careers, also as women we worry about societal issues and norms, we are constantly trying to survive and thrive in this world that sometimes we end up forgetting about our own identity, the identity within us. It's important for us to create a space for soft living, and need a space for yourself. It can even be a small ritual or spiritual practice you can aim to do for your self, some examples are:
- Having a solo retreat somewhere,
- Creating a sacred area for yourself that no one else can go to,
- Taking a long bath
- Going to your favorite lounge, or
- Going to the library, reading your favorite genre
- Staying in your bedroom to meditate or journal
- Taking a solo hike, to your favorite park
- Having a solo picnic
- Putting a puzzle together in a quiet space
These can be ways that soft living becomes apart from your reality and your everyday life. Soft living is a way to reconnect back to our bodies, rhythm, and emotional truth. Soft living is often misunderstood as laziness, or indulgence, but the real truth is it is a deeply spiritual practice rooted in presence, intention, and care. Here are some questions you can ask your self to reconnect with yourself.
What does my body need right now?
Where am I holding tension?
What are things that make feel reenergized instead of drained?
What are some things that help me slow down and be in the moment?
How does my space look when I need time to myself?
What is my favorite thing to do when I am spending time by myself?
What is my favorite solo hobby?
